Responsibilities
- Works under the supervision of the Registered Dietitian in providing nutrition care for patients/residents in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern the facility.
- Assist in planning, preparing, and delivering resident meals according to individual dietary needs and physician orders.
- Collaborate with the dietary team to assess and implement residents' nutritional plans.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and therapeutic diet guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of residents' dietary requirements and adjustments.
- Interact positively with residents, staff, and guests, providing excellent customer service and support.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and dining areas.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in nutrition/dietetics or Certified Dietary Manager required.
- 1-3 years of dietary experience in long-term care in a consultant or supervisory role required.
- In the process of obtaining Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration preferred.
- General knowledge of nutrition, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
- Ability to follow meal schedules and read food tray cards accurately.
- Strong communication skills and ability to maintain records.
- Ability to interact positively with residents and staff.
- Must be able to lift/carry 10 lbs., push/pull 10 lbs., and work around food and cleaning products.
- Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination policies is required.
- Must live in the service area.
